The Improv Theorem — Theatre Math T-Shirt

Y + A = C

Yes + And = Comedy.

After years of painstaking research, countless improvisational experiments, and absolutely no peer review, Wooliam Sheepspeare is pleased to announce a mathematical breakthrough.

The Improv Theorem.

At last, the fundamental principle of improvisational comedy has been reduced to a single, elegantly simple equation.

Of course, the formula assumes that everyone onstage understands the importance of accepting an offer, building upon it, and resisting the temptation to explain why the imaginary submarine couldn't possibly contain three chickens and a dentist.

A splendid addition to any improviser's wardrobe, this shirt celebrates the peculiar logic of spontaneous creativity—and the performers who somehow manage to make it work.

Perfect for:

• Improv performers and comedy troupes
